The addition of attractive white fencing?replacing a former black metal version, rusted out in spots?nearly completes the renovations of the Bedford Green Plaza on Route 117 in Bedford Hills.
"We still have all new light poles in the parking lot to install, which we will start working on in the spring," said Jim Diamond, owner of Diamond Properties, which purchased the plaza in 2008.
The fence was the last major exterior addition, Diamond added, other than a few additional new landscaped islands that will be added in front of Shoprite.
Since Diamond Properties acquired the plaza, several changes have taken place: The Feathered Nest opened and closed, Drug Mart closed, and new tenants including Panera Bread, CVS and Marshall's Shoe Outlet, Massage Envy and Vine & Co. have come onto the scene.
Diamond declined to disclose the amount of his firm's investment into the plaza. Improvements have included a new facade, signage, paving, new parking flow markings, landscaping and sidewalks.
Lease negotiations are underway for the space formerly occupied by a bank in the northern part of the parking lot?though he had planned to wrap up the lease by the new year, now Diamond says in the next few weeks he'll likely announce the new tenant.
Diamond is also seeking to add a third access road and a soccer field house for its Mount Kisco property on 333 North Bedford Road; he presented those plans to the Mount Kisco Planning Board at its meeting last Wednesday.
